Drake Not Involved in 'Drake's Homecoming' Film

Drake Not Involved in 'Drake's Homecoming' FilmIt turns out that Drake has nothing to do with a documentary about him that's scheduled to be released this week. The Canadian rapper has taken to Twitter to warn his fans that the project titled "Drake's Homecoming: The Lost Footage" isn't official.

"The 'Drake Homecoming' film is not something OVO or Drake have any part in," Drizzy declared in a post he sent out on Monday, March 16. "I feel it is my responsibility to inform and protect my fans."

According to Rolling Stone, the star's representative also said, "Obviously Drake and OVO only put out music and video/film that is of the highest quality for their brand and what their fans have come to expect and do not want any fans to buy into something that has not come from them."

"Drake's Homecoming" features "never-before-seen footage" of a 2009 performance by the rapper at Toronto's Sound Academy. At that time, he hadn't yet signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money label. In addition to performance, the documentary includes interviews with Rap-A-Lot Records founder James Prince and his son Jas Prince. They also serve as the executive producers of the film that's slated to hit theaters in the U.S. on March 19.
